COTTOFORTE CLAY
ACF 5 Throwing
ACF 10 Press
After years of research carried out on less technical products such as red clay, we have succeeded in developing a body which can be worked using normal techniques and fired at a temperature only slightly higher than normal while delivering extremely high characteristics of mechanical strength, resilience and toughness. The finished articles have very low absorption (just over 10%). Below this value there would be extremely high deformation risks using normal processing techniques. Recommended for the production of tableware.

COTTO FORNO CLAY
ACF 1055 Throwing
ACF 1060 Press
A new red body specially developed for ovenware production. It guarantees a better result after glazing than Pot Clay (on which it is not possible to guarantee the absence of speckling due to the excessively high iron content), while maintaining the necessary thermal shock resistance.

HARD EARTHENWARE BODY
TBF 1 Throwing/Press

Responding to demand for more technical bodies that can nonetheless be worked using Italian companies’ normal facilities and standard firing temperatures, the technical characteristics of this White Earthenware body are similar to those of hard earthenware, guaranteeing almost double the resilience and toughness of normal soft earthenware bodies. Furthermore, its relatively low coefficient of expansion makes it ideal for the production of ovenware.

PLASTIC BODY
GRÈS 1000 ºC
TFG 2650 Throwing/Press

This body has been developed through long-term laboratory research and vitrifies at a firing temperature of 1010-1040ºC. Its absorption and solidity characteristics are similar to those of bodies that vitrify at higher temperatures. Besides firing at the same temperatures as earthenware, this product has the advantage of being suitable for the production of ovenware as it has similar characteristics to traditional stoneware. It is likewise available with various levels of hardness. Rough handling and deformation prior to firing must be strictly avoided as they may generate stresses that are manifested after firing. The recommended biscuit firing temperature is 900-950°C, whereas the second firing should be carried out at 1010-1040ºC (almost the exact opposite of soft earthenware).

STONEWARE BODY
TBF 1001 Throwing/Press

This innovative body maintains the workability of earthenware and the mechanical strength and resilience of gres. Fired at 1060°C, it has absorption lower than 10% without any risk of deformation. The colour is also that of a classic Stoneware, tending slightly towards beige.
