"POG" Series On Glaze Colours
The low-release POG series of Onglaze colours is suitable for direct and indirect application and for traditional and fast firing cycles.
The POG series colours can be intermixed to obtain different colours and shades. Flux POG 0100 and Mixing White POG 0101 can be added to obtain a considerable quantity of pastel colours.
The POG series also comprises 4 gold based colours which are fully intermixable (subject to the normal limitations): POG 0029 Violet, POG 0030 Magenta, POG 0031 Purple, POG 0032 Baby Pink.
The POG series contains 4 cadmium-based colours (POG 0001, POG 0002, POG 0010 and POG 26) which can be mixed with the other colours.
However, mixing cadmium with non-cadmium colours is not recommended without performing preliminary tests.
For traditional cycle firing, the following temperatures should be taken as a guideline:
Ceramic: approx. 700°C - 780°C
Bone China: approx. 740°C - 800°C
Porcelain: approx. 760°C - 830°C
Vitreous China: approx. 740°C - 800°C
A higher temperature is recommended for fast firing cycles. The optimal cycle should be calculated taking account of the body and glaze used.
Dishwasher simulation tests have been carried out by immersion in 0.5% Calgonite solution at 78°C to reproduce approximately 500 consecutive washes.
After 36 hours of immersion, no appreciable colour deterioration or gloss loss is observed.
"RAINBOW" Series Lead-Free Inglaze Colours
The RAINBOW series of colours is produced specifically for fast firing on porcelain and is most suitable for the decoration of dishes and tableware.
The RAINBOW series consists of 24 colours which are totally intermixable to produce new shades. To obtain pastel tones, white DPCA 15002 should be added, whereas to increase gloss or to achieve greater transparency the transparent base DPCA 15001 should be added.
The RAINBOW series colours can be used for the production of decals or can be applied by screen printing, brush, spray gun or sponge. The special milling process and uniform colouring makes them easy to apply by direct or indirect screen printing with 270-350 mesh screens.
The recommended application temperature is between 1150° and 1250°C with firing cycles of between 45 and 120 minutes according to the temperature and characteristics of the porcelain. For other types of substrate, preliminary tests should be performed.
The RAINBOW series colours have been tested for dishwasher resistance by immersion in 0.5% Calgonite solution at 78°C to reproduce approximately 500 consecutive washes.
After 36 hours of immersion, no appreciable colour deterioration or gloss loss is observed.
The colours do not contain lead or antimony.
"COSMO" Series Lead-Free Colours
The COSMO series has the same characteristics as the Rainbow series colours: 14 colours (9 pastel shades and 5 intense shades) with metallic effect.
The glossiness and metallisation of the colour depends on the type of screen used for screen printing application, on the temperature of use (in any case between 1150°C and 1250°C) and on the speed of the firing cycle.
Dishwasher simulation tests have been carried out by immersion in 0.5% Calgonite solution at 78°C to reproduce approximately 500 consecutive washes.
After 36 hours of immersion, no appreciable deterioration in colours or gloss loss is observed.
The colours do not contain lead.
